Not All Concrete Companies Are Created Equally
What's the greatest aspect of the concrete industry? Regardless of experience, absolutely anybody can get into the concrete business.
That's right. Becoming a concrete contractor can be quite easy.
Just pick out a name, buy and rent some tools, watch a few vidoes online, build a website and... poof! You can pass yourself off as a concrete pro.
Knowing this one simple fact, it's easy to see how experienced concrete companies will produce first-rate concrete work, while others will provide poor quality, sub-standard work.

Received a prompt call from the owner of "Upon This Rock" concrete contractor. He was very pleasant and professional. Of the three contractors who bid on the job, he was right in the middle. All the contractors I interviewed were qualified and I would have hired any of the three. The contractor I first interviewed was the lower of all three, plus I have witnessed some of the professional and beautiful work he has done... so he got the job. Price and quality... can't ask for more than that.
What more can I ask for!!
Was contacted by Hal's Masonry, Inc. a few days ago. They are a local business out of Grayling, Mi - about 20 miles from my location. Owner came out yesterday to size up the job and answer questions. Am currently waiting to receive the job details and written estimate. Initial impression is positive. Owner was knowlegable and responsive. Using your 11-point checklist as a guide, this company seems to meet most of the requirements set forth. Only after the estimate and job details are recieved will I be able to fully rate this company, however. This is the second of two bids put out, so I haven't made a decision at this point.
Positive impression!

Concrete/Masonry Project
I hired some \"drive-by guy\" to fill in a few cracks in my driveway.....he made a mess and it\'s really embarrassing. He smeared concrete all over. Anyway it is also stained over the years. A friend told me to find someone that can sand it and seal it to make it look better. So until I replace it in a few years I would like to get it cleaned and sealed. I do not want to spend the money on resurface right now just a face-lift...Thanks so much..

Having the water main replaced on this single-family home in a suburban neighborhood; will need a section of the driveway (which is a flat surface at a slight inclination measuring approximately 4\' x 8\'), replaced.
