Answer: A heavy duty degreaser, a little water and a wire brush. Scrub the oil spot off and rinse it well.


Cat little or topsoil are excellent alternatives if the oil spots are very recent or fresh. Let the cat little or topsoil sit on the oil spot for a few days. Alternate the oil soaked litter or topsoil with dry litter or soil every couple of days until the oil spot disappears.

Answer: This issue can be greatly reduced if addressed during the installation. Adding a geotextile fabric or weed barrier prior to installing the paver driveway will greatly reduce weeds.


If it's an existing paver driveway, then spraying weed killer can kill existing weeds and prevent new ones.

Answer: The most effective ay to clean moss or algae from pavers is to use a pressure washer. Creating a mixture of vinegar and water and spraying it on the pavers prior to power washing assist in the removal.


If you don't have a pressure washer, a good, stiff bristled brush, water and a vinegar/water solution will remove the moss or algae with a little bit of elbow grease!

Answer: A short term solution is to cast sand on the pavers.


A more permanent solution is to seal the pavers with a special sand mixed into the sealer or cast over the the sealer as it's being applied.


Keep in mind, some paver manufactures will no longer warranty pavers that have been sealed.

Answer: Yes. However, some paver manufacturers will void the warranty if the pavers are sealed.


Keep in mind that once you seal pavers, it will then become a regular routine maintenance that will need to be done every 3 to 5 years in order to keep the paver driveway looking clean and fresh.

Answer: Once a paver driveway has been sealed once, it will need to continue to be sealed every 3 to 5 years thereafter in order to keep the paver driveway looking good.


Keep in mind that some paver manufacturers will void the warranty if the pavers are sealed.
