I am trying to decide whether to replace my asphalt driveway with concrete or pavers. The 27-year-old asphalt driveway was lifted by the roots of large,, old trees I would like to keep by using a concrete or plastic root barrier. One contractor said concrete is my best option because it will prevent water from permeating through the driveway and attracting the roots. Another said pavers are good because a 2 to 3 foot deep concrete root barrier will do the job and if roots lift the paver driveway, a section can be replaced rather than replacing the entire driveway.… Read more »
