Can You Color An Asphalt Driveway?
Some people look at the bold black color of sealcoat and wonder… “are there any other colors available?” “Are there more natural looking or blend into the surrounding environment a little better?”

However, there are a few things you might want to know before you decide on sealing your driveway with a colored sealer!
Cost
While the typical black, water based asphalt sealer is approximately $2.00 to $2.50 per gallon, the colored asphalt sealers can run 9 to 12 times higher in cost!
Application Warnings
Colored asphalt sealers cannot be applied on an asphalt driveway that’s previously been sealed with a water based asphalt sealer, it can only be applied on fresh asphalt.
Lifetime Commitment
Once you decide to go with a colored asphalt sealer you are making a commitment for the lifetime of your driveway. You can never go back to a water based sealer.
However, one of the many choices of colored asphalt sealer is black, so if you decide you want to go back to the traditional color, there’s still that option.
