Was contacted by Hal's Masonry, Inc. a few days ago. They are a local business out of Grayling, Mi - about 20 miles from my location. Owner came out yesterday to size up the job and answer questions. Am currently waiting to receive the job details and written estimate. Initial impression is positive. Owner was knowlegable and responsive. Using your 11-point checklist as a guide, this company seems to meet most of the requirements set forth. Only after the estimate and job details are recieved will I be able to fully rate this company, however. This is the second of two bids put out, so I haven't made a decision at this point.

Re-doing the alley. 960sq ft. 60\' long, 16\' wide. Need the old asphalt removed, and new, sloped driveway put in. Sanitation trucks drive on the alley, so it should be able to withstand the weight as well as the weather.
